Ditmas Park West
Neighborhood Associationest. 1969

$15. One household, one year.

We’ve charged the same fifteen dollars since 1991(?). Roughly 40% of households on these fifteen blocks chip in. The math is simple: a few thousand a year, mostly into trees and permits.

What $15 pays for
  • +Saplings, fences, and tree-pit supplies
  • +Block-party permits and music
  • +Newsletter paper and ink (for non-email holdouts)
  • +Coffee for the cleanup, wine for the progrssive dinner
  • +This website
  • +Reserves for emergencies (Sandy showed us why)
What you get
  • Invitation to members-only events like the Holiday Mixer and the Progressive Dinner
  • Voting rights at board elections
  • A small but real chance Dan remembers your name
  • A small but real hit of civic smugness
  • Coming soon: a member portal with photo archive, dues status, and event RSVPs
Pay your dues

Three ways, one minute.

Fifteen dollars per household, once a year. Pay any time — we count by the calendar year, so you’re square through December no matter when you join. A one-line confirmation by email when it lands.

A few questions, answered.

Do I have to be a homeowner?

No. Renters, sublets, owners, all welcome. Live within the boundaries (Coney Island Ave to Marlborough, Cortelyou to Newkirk) and you’re in.

Is it tax-deductible?

No. We are not a 501(c)(3). It’s closer to a tip jar than a charitable donation.

What if I can't afford $15?

Then don’t pay it. Show up to a cleanup, or to Arbor Day. The events are open regardless.

Do you keep a membership list?

The board does, on a spreadsheet, for the December mixer. We don’t share or sell it.

Can I pay multiple years at once?

Yes. People do. You can too!
